Playtest Session One Tech Update


After our first playtest session with the Game design club, we realized several issues that we were able to fix.

- We realized that at the start of each round, players didn't realize that they are respawning and thus often die right when they respawn. To fix this, we added a countdown both in sound effect as well as an on-screen display when the next round is about to start. We also added a countdown before the game starts so that players are not thrown into the game right away.

- Another issue was when players spawn, if unattended, they will die right away due to their orientation. To fix this, we changed the direction that player faces when they respawn to give them more room to breath.

- During our first playtest session, we also realized that most players die in 20 seconds of each round and had to watch the last player for a long time before they respawn, so, we changed it so that each round lasts for 30 seconds instead of 60. This way players would not be idling for as long. 

- We also changed the wording of the character selection menu from "choose players" to "choose the number of players" to reduce confusion.
